Do You Need to Find a Nearby Burleigh Waters, Gold Coast Florist?
The suburb of Burleigh Waters is located in Queensland, in the popular tourist city known as the Gold Coast. As of 2011, the suburb had a population of around 13,868 people, and is surrounded by the suburbs of Robina, Varsity Lakes, Andres, Mermaid Waters, Andres, Miami and Burleigh Heads.
Featuring an idyllic canal system, Burleigh Waters is a relaxing spot for visitors as well as for locals. There are five lakes in total within the perimetres of the suburb, called Burleigh Lake, Swan Lake, Lake Heron, Pelican Lake and Miami Lake. These naturally offer scenic backdrops for visitors wandering around the foreshore or looking for some time away from the busy city landscape. While secondary-contact aquatic activities are available throughout the canals of the Gold Coast, the presence of bull whaler sharks within the southern waterways has led most people to leave the swimming to the nearby beaches.
There are plenty of points of interest around the suburb, particularly in the nearby coastal Burleigh Heads. The David Fleay Wildlife Park is a popular attraction situated on West Burleigh Road, and allows visitors unmatched opportunities to get close to some native Australian birds and animals. Close to Tallebudgera Creek, the Wildlife Park houses kangaroos, emus, crocodiles, koalas, dingoes, brolgas and a resident platypus named Wally.
Park guests have the opportunity to stroll through the park at their own leisure, including the mangrove boardwalk which bestrides the creek. The rangers also host wildlife shows throughout the day, which demonstrate the park’s conservation initiatives. David Fleay was adamant about keeping captive animals in enclosures that reflect their own habitat, as opposed to iron-barred cages. Today, the many naturally inspired enclosures built in zoos and conservation parks around the world mirror David’s philosophy.
The grounds are fit with a café and a picnic area, allowing visitors to purchase their lunch or bring something packed to eat amongst the green setting. The activities on offer include the Nocturnal House, the Creatures of the Night Show, where visitors will see owls and nocturnal gliders, the Wallaby Walk, where visitors can feed and pet the wallabies, the Crocodile Feeding, the Creature Feature encounter where a different animal is showcased each session, and the Plat Chat and Feed, where visitors can learn all there is to know about the platypus.
